At Kuri City, we aim to create a safe, stimulating, and sociable environment for every dog throughout the day. To make this work for all the dogs in our care, all clients must comply with the following.
Photography and marketing: By leaving your dog in our care, you give us permission to photograph or film them for use in our marketing. If you'd prefer your dog not to appear in our content, please let us know during their assessment.
| Day | Hours |
|---|---|
| Monday – Friday | 7:00 am – 6:00 pm |
| Saturday | 10:00 am – 2:00 pm |
| Sunday | Closed |
If your dog is not collected by 6:00 pm on weekdays or 2:00 pm on Saturdays, a late fee of $10 per 15 minutes applies, up to a maximum of $30. This is payable at your next visit.
All dogs must complete a two-step assessment before attending Kuri City daycare:
Both the evaluation and the assessment fee apply to all new dogs. Dogs must be well-socialised or actively in training, non-reactive, and not protective of food or toys. Owners must confirm that their dog has not shown aggressive or significantly fearful behaviour.
Kuri City reserves the right to remove any dog showing behaviour that poses a risk to other dogs or staff. Dogs that consistently show non-compliant behaviour may be asked to limit their visits or complete training before returning.
All dogs attending Kuri City must be up to date with the following vaccinations:
Vaccination records will be noted on file, and owners are required to provide updated proof annually. Dogs aged 6 or 12 months require booster vaccinations at the appropriate time. Older dogs should be re-vaccinated every three years unless immunity is confirmed by a veterinarian.
Please keep your dog at home if:
If your dog has any injuries, wounds, or health concerns — even minor ones — please let us know before they attend. Our team monitors all dogs throughout the day, and the more information you share, the better we can care for your dog.
Feeding note: Dogs on dry food should not be fed in the morning before a daycare day. A minimum of three hours is needed for digestion before vigorous exercise, to prevent vomiting or bloat.
By using Kuri City daycare, you confirm the following:
You are the legal owner of your dog, or have the legal authority to make decisions on their behalf.
Your dog has not been exposed to distemper, rabies, or parvovirus in the past 30 days, and their vaccinations are current as confirmed by the records you have provided.
You understand that Kuri City operates as a cage-free facility wherever possible. You accept the associated risks and agree that Kuri City is not liable for injuries or illnesses resulting from the inherent nature of a cage-free group environment.
You have disclosed all known risks, behavioural history, or relevant health information about your dog.
You understand that if your dog has a history of aggression or biting, Kuri City reserves the right to refuse entry.
You authorise Kuri City to obtain any emergency veterinary care considered necessary for your dog's health and safety, should we be unable to reach you in time.
You understand that Kuri City reserves the right to refuse service at any time.
Our grooming service is led by Shannon McGarry, with over 26 years of experience as a certified groomer and vet nurse. To ensure every dog has the best possible experience, please read through the following.
All grooming appointments must be booked at least 24 hours in advance by phone or email. Prices are given as a guide and may vary depending on coat condition, temperament, or additional requirements — your final price will be confirmed at the time of booking or at drop-off.
We require at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a grooming appointment. Because grooming slots are time-intensive and difficult to fill at short notice, cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice — or failure to attend without notice — will be charged in full.
Please let us know about any health issues, skin conditions, injuries, allergies, or behavioural concerns before your dog's appointment. This includes any recent surgeries, lumps, or areas of sensitivity we should be aware of.
Dogs must be free from active flea infestations at the time of their appointment. If fleas are discovered during grooming, an additional treatment fee will apply.
Grooming a severely matted coat can be uncomfortable for your dog and may require additional time and care. If your dog arrives with significant matting, we'll always discuss the options with you first. Depending on the severity, this may include:
Your dog's comfort and welfare always come first, and we'll walk you through any decisions before we proceed.
We prioritise your dog's comfort throughout every groom. If at any point your dog shows signs of significant distress, we reserve the right to pause or end the appointment and contact you. In these cases, a charge will apply for the portion of the service already completed.
By booking a grooming appointment with Kuri City, you give us permission to photograph your dog during or after their groom and use those images for marketing purposes — including on our website and social media. If you'd prefer your dog not to be photographed, please let us know at the time of booking and we'll note it on your file.
Our team takes every precaution to ensure your dog is safe and comfortable throughout their groom. Kuri City is not liable for the discovery of pre-existing conditions — such as skin irritations, lumps, or sensitivities — that become more visible or apparent during the grooming process. If we notice anything of concern, we'll let you know promptly so you can follow up with your vet.
Our dog walking service is led by Elodie, who has trained in dog education and agility. The following terms apply to all dog walking services provided by Kuri City.
You agree to provide Kuri City with keys, access codes, or other arrangements necessary to carry out the agreed service. You'll ensure that keys and access details are functional, safe, and provided in good time before the first walk.
You authorise Kuri City to obtain any emergency veterinary care deemed necessary for your dog's health and welfare during our time with them. We will always make every reasonable effort to contact you first. You accept full responsibility for all costs incurred for emergency care. If your regular vet is unavailable, we may use an alternative licensed veterinary professional.
You agree to reimburse Kuri City for any additional costs reasonably incurred in providing emergency care, as well as unexpected expenses for transport, accommodation, food, or supplies required for your dog.
You understand that you are responsible for any costs or damages resulting from injury to the dog walker, Kuri City representatives, or any third party caused by your dog. You agree to hold Kuri City harmless from any claims, losses, or legal actions arising from such incidents. You also accept full liability for any loss or damage caused by your dog during walks.
Please notify Kuri City of any concerns or complaints within 24 hours of the relevant appointment so we can address them promptly.
Kuri City will provide all services in a professional, reliable, and compassionate manner. In consideration of these services, you waive and release any and all claims against Kuri City, its employees, contractors, or representatives, except in cases of proven negligence on our part.
Kuri City accepts no responsibility for the security of your premises or for any loss or damage if other individuals have access to your property during the term of this agreement. All services are carried out solely by the owner or employees of Kuri City, unless you have given prior written consent.
No dog will be walked off-lead unless you have provided prior written consent. Off-lead walking will only take place in safe and appropriate locations.
If Kuri City is unable to attend a scheduled service due to illness, emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances, you will be notified as soon as possible and alternative arrangements will be discussed where feasible.
Kuri City is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage resulting from the failure or malfunction of your dog's equipment — including leads, collars, or harnesses — or from equipment that is improperly fitted.
Kuri City accepts no liability for injury, disappearance, death, or penalties incurred if a pet is allowed unsupervised access to outdoor areas, whether by your instruction or otherwise.
Kuri City holds full public liability insurance covering all dog walking activities. You remain responsible for any costs, claims, or damages arising from injury caused by your dog to people, property, or other animals. While we take every precaution to keep all dogs safe, Kuri City cannot be held liable for injury, loss, or death resulting from circumstances beyond our control — including unforeseen accidents, sudden illness, or theft.
This agreement remains in effect for all future services until a new agreement is signed. Kuri City reserves the right to terminate this agreement at any time at its sole discretion. You may terminate this agreement with a minimum of one month's written notice.
We're committed to reliable, compassionate, and attentive care for your dog. All walks are conducted by the owner of Kuri City or an approved employee or contractor. Dogs may be walked individually or in small groups, with the maximum group size agreed with you in advance. Walk durations refer to active walking time only and do not include travel, pick-up, or drop-off. Fresh water is provided after every walk, and dogs will be towel-dried if wet wherever possible. Services are carried out in all reasonable weather conditions, with adjustments made in cases of extreme heat, cold, or adverse weather to ensure the safety of the dogs.
Dogs are collected from and returned to the agreed address at scheduled times, using a safe and secure method of transport that complies with NZ Animal Welfare regulations and the Highway Code. If you are not at home, access will be arranged through the keys, codes, or other agreed methods you have provided.
You are responsible for providing a safe and appropriate harness and/or collar for your dog. If your dog pulls excessively, a suitable harness must be supplied to allow for safe handling. If appropriate equipment is not provided, Kuri City reserves the right to use its own handling equipment for safety. If you wish to decline the use of alternative equipment, this must be confirmed in writing before the service begins.
All dogs must be up to date with vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping in line with NZ law. You are responsible for informing Kuri City of any health issues, injuries, allergies, or behavioural concerns before walks begin. Dogs must not display aggressive behaviour towards people or other animals — if such behaviour occurs, Kuri City reserves the right to end the service immediately. Dogs in season or that are unwell will not be walked in a group and may require individual care arrangements.
All new dogs are required to complete a 60-minute Initial Assessment and a minimum of two solo walks before joining group walks.
Dogs are matched into suitable groups based on size, temperament, and energy level. Dogs with known aggression, reactivity, or unpredictable behaviour will be walked individually. Puppies may join group walks only once they are fully vaccinated and capable of completing the full walk duration without risk to their health.
During extreme weather — including heatwaves, heavy snow, ice, or high winds — walks may be shortened, rescheduled, or replaced with home visits or garden breaks to protect the safety of the dogs in our care. Where possible, we will discuss alternative arrangements with you in advance. If adjusted timings or alternative visits are offered but declined, our standard cancellation policy applies and the full service fee may still be charged.
In rain or moderate wind, walks proceed as normal. In gale-force winds, walks may be shortened to allow us to safely reach all dogs scheduled that day. In freezing temperatures, icy conditions, or heavy snow, walks may be cancelled entirely if deemed unsafe for both the dogs and the walker. Safety is always the first priority.
Kuri City will give a minimum of 14 days' written notice when taking planned time off, to give you sufficient opportunity to make alternative arrangements. In cases of unexpected illness or emergency, we'll notify you as soon as possible and make every reasonable effort to arrange cover where we can.
Walk updates, photos, or notes can be provided on request to keep you informed of your dog's activities and wellbeing. Any incidents, concerns, or notable changes in behaviour observed during a walk will be communicated to you promptly.

If you're not happy with your purchase, you may return it within 30 days of receipt, provided the item is:
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method once your return is received and approved.
Due to the perishable nature of raw food and natural treats, we do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind, or because your dog has chosen not to eat the product. If you're switching your dog to raw food, we recommend a gradual transition to help them adjust.
We'll offer a replacement or refund in the following situations:

Our first step is always to offer a replacement product; if unavailable or not appropriate, we will issue a full refund.
We're unable to offer returns or refunds where your dog doesn't like the taste, where digestive changes occurred during a raw food transition (loose stools or mild vomiting are common and do not indicate a product fault), where the product was stored or handled incorrectly after delivery, or where the claim is made more than 48 hours after delivery.
