Structure & Times for Daily Care
7:00 am - 9:00 am
Drop off: Dogs arrive, wait calmly at gates and doors as they are assigned their doggy playgroup for the day.
9:00 am - 10:00 am
Settle in: Supervised by staff, dogs are encouraged to play and interact with their daycare groups.
10:00am -1:00 pm
Playtime: a variety of dog toys and enrichment games for all to enjoy – Ball time, Brain Games including ropes, gym class and doggy agility equipment.
Kuri training: Staff work on the basics of good behaviour, socialisation and getting the dogs used to all the small dog agility equipment.
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Naptime: We carefully settle the dogs on comfortable beds, couches, baskets, crates, or even staff laps, ensuring each dog feels secure and relaxed. Each dog receives a comforting cuddle and a thorough health check before being assigned a designated sleep area. This process helps provide the much-needed peace and calm that is essential for both the dogs and our dedicated staff. At Kuri City, we prioritise your dog’s well-being, making sure they enjoy a restful break in a safe, caring environment.
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Playtime: More supervised fun and exercise. Using non-destructible and interactive toys, dogs are encouraged to play, catch, run, chase and find.
4:00 pm - 5:00pm
Settle time: Time to settle down before you arrive, playgroups are mixed if suitable.
5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Home time: Time to form up, put leads on and head home for dinner and some much-needed rest before the next exciting day begins.
KURI Regulations
At Kuri City, we aim to create a safe, stimulating, and sociable environment for small dogs. To ensure this, all clients must comply with our rules and regulations. By leaving your dog(s) in our care, you grant us permission to use them in marketing photos or videos. If you have concerns, please inform us during your assessment. All dogs at Kuri City must meet the following health and safety requirements:
Daily Rules for Daycare Dogs:
- Dogs must arrive by 9:00 am and be on a lead when leaving the vehicle.
- Dogs must remain on a lead in public areas and car parks.
- Pay for daycare in advance at the reception.
- Book services (daycare, training, health care, grooming) at least 24 hours in advance. Exceptions are made for health care.
- Provide 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or changes. Full charges apply for no-shows without notice.
Operating Hours
- Weekdays: 7:00 am to 6:00 pm
- Saturday: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Daycare: Monday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm
Late Fees
- $10 for every 15 minutes, up to $30, payable on pickup.
Attendance criteria for Daycare and where applicable other centre users
- All dogs must complete an assessment, including an application form and an assessment session at Kuri City
- Evaluation and payment apply to all new dogs attending Kuri City daycare.
- Dogs must be well-socialised or in training, non-reactive, and not protective of food or toys.
- Owners must certify their dogs have not shown aggressive or fearful behaviour.
- Kuri City reserves the right to remove any dog showing negative behaviour, including excessive barking or signs of stress.
- Dogs showing non-compliant behaviour may need to limit visits or undergo training.
Age and Gender Requirements:
- Dogs from 16 weeks old are eligible for daycare.
- Female dogs should ideally be spayed by 10 months.
- Entire male dogs will be individually assessed.
- Female dogs in season cannot attend daycare.
Vaccination Requirements:
Dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations. Required vaccinations include:
- Canine Distemper Virus (5 in 1)
- Kennel Cough
- Vaccination dates will be recorded, owners will be required to show updated vaccinations annually.
- Dogs aged 6 or 12 months require booster vaccinations. Older dogs should be re-vaccinated every three years unless immunity is confirmed.
Dog Health and Welfare
The health, welfare and comfort of your dog is our main priority, and before booking we need you to consider the following and inform us of any issues:
- Keep your dog at home if it has had diarrhoea, vomiting, coughing, or any other sickness in the last 24 hours.
- If your dog has been housed in boarding kennels or attends another dog daycare centre your dog must not attend day care for at least 7 days to prevent the possible spread of infections such as kennel cough.
- If your dog contracts kennel cough there is a 10 day stand down period after the dog has finished its antibiotics and symptoms have subsided.
- Dogs on antibiotics need a stand-down period. Ask staff for details.
- Dogs post-surgery or with stitches should not attend.
- Inform us about any health issues, like wounds or injuries.
- Staff will monitor your dog’s health throughout the day, so inform us of anything unusual.
- Inform us if your dog has recently had surgery or any illness that may affect attendance.
- Dogs on dry food should not eat in the morning on daycare days. They need 3 hours to digest before exercising to prevent vomiting or bloat.
