If you’re feeding your dog a fully raw diet, raw meaty bones can be a game-changer. Not only do they provide vital behavioural stimulation, but they also offer dental health benefits and a good dose of natural nutrition – and let’s face it, dogs absolutely love them! For those with larger dogs, meaty bones can also be a surprisingly budget-friendly way to add to their diet. We offer a variety of bones suited for different dogs, including beef necks for bigger dogs, veal bones for medium-sized and experienced smaller chewers, and chicken necks for smaller dogs or those new to bone eating.
For young puppies, or dogs new to raw feeding, bones might be a bit intimidating at first. Don’t worry—it’s completely normal! Our raw food experts can help you understand the best time to introduce bones to your pet’s diet. Before getting started, it’s good to get some advice, so feel free to reach out to us online or pop into our store for a chat.
When selecting bones, keep in mind that pets need to rip, tear, and chew to fully benefit from them. Make sure you choose bones that have plenty of meat or soft tissue to gnaw on, as this is where all the fun – and nutrition – happens.
While raw meaty bones are awesome, they aren’t a complete meal on their own. To keep your pet’s diet balanced, it’s important to mix in a variety of prey proteins, as well as organ meat and tripe. This ensures your furry friend is getting all the vitamins and minerals they need.
Adding green tripe into your pet’s meals helps with bone digestion, thanks to its prebiotic and probiotic qualities. We recommend that green tripe should make up about a quarter to a third of their meals to keep everything running smoothly.
